Organization and the basics...

Every blog needs to have some type of theme or recurring pattern so that the readers, essentially you, know what to expect and when you can read it. I wanted to post earlier this week but due to a wonderful virus going around my apartment I was in bed for nearly two days straight with zero desire to focus on anything but the back of my eye lids. With that being said, starting this coming Monday, will be the official kick off of, "Learn it. Live it. Love it." I will be posting three days a week. The schedule will be as follows until further notice:

'Hometown Mondays'- This section will have stories of... You guessed it, hometowns from the likes of you and me. We will be talking about places we have lived, laughed and loved. The places with our favorite burger joints on Friday nights and the best places to hang out with friends. These can be places we have been, where we are now or the places we would like to move to. Feel free to contact me with comments, stories or pictures from your Hometown and I will do my best to include them in a 'Hometown Monday' post.

'Travel Tip Tuesday' - The name says it all here. This will be for current or future travelers be it a road trip a couple hours away, to the exotic hungry world traveler packing up and leaving on a jet plane. There are many ways to travel, pack and plan your trip. Hopefully we can all share and learn some great ways to be prepared and make traveling less stressful and more enjoyable whether it's a family vacation or business trip.

'European Wednesdays' - I love Europe. I always have and I most likely always will. I find it fascinating and exhilarating. Wednesday's will be the day of the week where we will spotlight a country or a town or a historical event from across the pond. Have a fun story or favorite place you visited? You are more than welcome to send it and I will do my best to highlight you as our unofficial official reporter for the week. There are so many wonderful things to talk about on European Wednesday's from the food, to the people, the the amazing scenery. I greatly look forward to this day and I hope you do too.

There you have it folks. Please check back weekly for new posts and updates.

The World Is Your Oyster...

I've heard this comment a lot from my dad growing up. I've reflected on this countless times and more often than not, have failed to see the magnificence of the statement until recently. One might interpet this as having the ability to achieve anything you want. This may very well work and be true for many and I do agree on some accounts that we really do make our own luck and are capable of achieving anything if we have the desire to do so.
I would like to delve a bit more deeply into the idea of an oyster truly representing the world. Many times it may seem ugly, dark and difficult to reach. It is at this point we must reach out and grab it, applying ourselves and giving back to what is around us that it opens up and reveals its secrets and shows to us the pearl inside. From every continent, to every nation, to every culture therein lies something beautiful to see. We will never see it if we don't open our eyes, walk down the street and let ourselves be open to the world that surrounds each of us. Everywhere is a journey and something to be learned. The world is your oyster but only when you decide to make it so.

"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."

About this here Blog...

As of right now this is simply a work in progress. I have had the opportunity and privilege of visiting many unique places near and far. I have thought long and hard about what to do and how to share the information that I have. I love to travel and visit new places whether it is the new restaurant down the street or planning to visit some exotic or historical locale. I do not profess to be a scholar or an all encompassing vat of knowledge. I am in fact just a normal guy who has been fortunate enough to see some of the world and have a slight desire to share what I have seen and learned. I hope this will be a place for you and I to share out stories together and to allow others to see out and into the world and cultures that surround us. As time progresses I would like to expand this from a blog to a more formal website. This is as of right now a project, a hobby, an interest. Life is about learning, living and loving who we are and what we do.
